Dormant Trees Allow You to Plant Late |

At Van Well Nursery, we get a lot of questions at this time of year (if you have one, please use the “Just Ask Us” feature). One of the most asked questions is, “How late can I plant?” Many growers mistakenly believe they cannot plant bareroot fruit trees after April. This is generally the case if the trees are out in leaf. However, Van Well Nursery fruit trees are kept in cold storage all spring and are shipped fully dormant. In fact, your tree stays in cold storage until the day it is packed and shipped. We will continue to ship trees and our growers can continue to plant until July. Please check out our inventory page, as things change rapidly during Spring shipping season.
