This rootstock controls tree size like a vigorous M 9 clone (35 percent of standard). It is a hardy understock that is resistant to root rot and fireblight. It exhibits tolerance to replant disease like many other Cornell University introductions. Like other full dwarf roots, it does not self-anchor and requires support.
